Rhawnhurst Turning Point

Center for Youth and Young Adults in NE Philly

Homework Help & Drop-In Center

Center Hours:

During the school year RTP is open on Tuesdays thru Thursdays from 2:30-9 pm for drop-in times and summer homework help.  Youth can gather to hang out with volunteers and friends, use our computers, watch movies, work on summer reading and homework, get help with SAT prep, play board games, and more.  The Homework Help & Drop-In Center is open to all youth entering grades 6 and is FREE of charge.

This program begins again for the 2016-17 program year September 20th.  On their first visit to the Center, youth will need to complete a registration form and a parent/guardian will need to complete a photo release form.  These can be picked up at the Center or a Registration Form can be filled out online by clicking here.

Tuesdays – Thursdays youth can come to Turning Point for one on one homework help from our caring volunteers, to use our internet and printer ready computers, or to have a quiet and safe space to work on their homework on their own or with their friends.  No appointment is necessary, though if youth need help with a specific subject, we encourage them to call ahead of time so we can be sure to have a volunteer who can assist them.  If youth finish their work early, they are welcome to use the computers, play board games, check out a book from our library, or hang out with their friends and our volunteers.

Quiet hours are in effect until 6 pm, after which youth who are done their homework may play music, play video games, watch movies, or register for one of our evening art classes.   The Homework Help and Drop-In Center is FREE of charge and open to all youth without discrimination.

Turning Point is a substance free zone, is free of charge, and is open to all youth in grades 6-12 without discrimination.
